A few words about "sales" in Vintage

The world of vintage fashion, among its many pros, also has this: being completely detached and independent from production. For this reason, it should also be completely foreign to the concept of "sales".

In modern commercial practice, "sales" arise from production-industrial needs even before commercial ones: liquidating old collections to make room for new ones, exhausting stocks of goods to take in new stocks... all with the now well-known implications of overproduction, marketing of uncritical consumption, and a more or less fast approach to fashion.

It's in fact no coincidence that the market segment that most exploits the practice of "sales" is the now sadly predominant one of fast fashion.

It's clear, then, that in the vintage and second-hand world, lacking the production phase, the concept of "old collection" and "new collection" makes inevitably few sense.

There's no old and new here: there are many unique items, selected one by one, none of which is given a deadline.

There is no danger that a vintage piece will become "out of fashion", because by its very nature it will be out of time: and therefore immune to time.

The idea of a product that can be liquidated at the end of a season is the furthest thing from the true essence of vintage fashion.

This is why you'll never see the expression "sales" used here on Treble & Bass Vintage.
A sterile question of principle or words? Maybe... But even words carry a great part of the understanding of the dynamics that are the basis of today's vintage market, and fashion in general.

This doesn't mean discounts do not exist! Below you will find various products at a discounted price: from wool coats to linen suits, completely regardless of the season and type.
